Systems for Environmental Protection

Since more than one hundred years RUPPMANN, located in Stuttgart, is involved in plannings, delivery, erection, commissioning and start-up of cremation plants as well as of different types of incineration systems for many kinds of application. First established in the former "Wilhelm Ruppmann Industrieofenbau GmbH" and since 1979 in the successor company "Dipl.-Ing. Ruppmann Verbrennungsanlagen GmbH", we have installed more than 150 cremation systems and more than 150 incineration units for clinical and hazardous waste as well as many systems for recycling of precious metals from residues from technical processes.  


Focused on the key component „oven system", the fundamentals of combustion processes are combined with the construction of the different types of oven and the choice of the refractory lining. Thus, our systems achieve effective combustion conditions which lead to low primary energy consumption and sustainable reduction of CO2 in atmosphere. In addition, RUPPMANN systems are characterised by high lifetime, which reduces cost for our clients.


Abridged version of a letter of one of our clients (Oct. 2010): „I have worked with our current RUPPMANN multi-stage cremator for 20 years now, and have strangely become quite attached to the machine. Considering that it is 34 years old and still operating well, this speaks volumes as to the quality of product and your company's experience."


Depending on the local requirements the flue gas cooling and cleaning system is designed using well-proven components. Most of them are developed by ourselves, such as the refractory-lined heat exchanger tower for "fast" flue gas cooling, the multi-cyclone system for removal of flying sparks as well as for adsorption of gaseous harmful substances by addition of reagents within a reaction zone, and the fixed bed adsorber. Particularly with regard to minimise toxicologically relevant compounds, such as dioxins and furans, RUPPMANN was not only significantly involved in development and application of adsorption technology for small incineration units but also in the application of catalytic filter systems in order to destroy these compounds, which can be shown by many series of measurements.


Our potential are well-educated engineers and technicians which are able to develop customised solutions, which are focused in an integral way, regarding technical economical and environmental aspects similarly.



Abridged version of the summary of a measuring report by an independent institute regarding a RUPPMANN cremation plant (2005): „... during the complete measuring period the emissions of all compounds were significantly below the limits given by the Swiss Guidelines."
